GASTRONOMY
Agerola is composed of six hamlets (Bomerano, Pianillo, Santa Maria, Campora, Ponte, San Lazzaro) which preserve ancient cultural and gastronomic traditions. Overlooking the Amalfi Coast like a theater open to the sea, Agerola is protected behind it by the Parco dei Monti Lattari which gives it a healthy, fresh, and pleasant climate, especially in summer. Its typical products and recipes handed down for centuries are wonderfully combined with the flavors of the Amalfi Coast. Among the famous products, Provolone del Monaco and Fior di Latte stand out, a vast assortment of dairy products (dairy products, caciotte, caciocavalli, ricotta) and pork (salami, pancetta, raw ham, capocollo, sausage, lard, and lard). Agerola is famous for its hard wholemeal, rye or corn flour bread, taralli, nocillo liqueur with Sorrento walnuts, limoncello with aromatic Sfusato Amalfitano lemon skins, fresh pasta, and sweets typical of the local tradition
